Aquatica Orlando Water Park
In March 2008, Sea World opened the doors to its latest theme park to hit Central Florida, one that has been several years in the making. Aquatica, the newest venture by Anheuser-Busch, is a water park that combines exciting slides, lush landscapes and attractions that you would expect from a Sea World theme park with the same integration of marine mammals that they have become so famous for. In fact, this 60-acre water park features 36 water slides, six rivers and lagoons, more than 80,000 square feet of beaches and side-by-side wave pools right alongside Commerson’s dolphins, the featured animal that also plays a starring role in the park’s most popular attraction.
If you are visiting either Sea World or Discovery Cove, or simply want to find an inexpensive way to beat the Central Florida heat, Aquatica may be just the place for you! Located right across the street from Sea World on International Drive (just off of FL 528 and less than a mile from the Orange County Convention Center) and within a 10-mile drive of all of the other attractions and the Orlando International Airport, this theme park may possibly have one of the best locations of all of the parks in Orlando.
Aquatica – Taumata Racer:
Guests must be at least 42″ tall, life vests are not required on this attraction. Guests must be able to maintain proper riding position holding on to both handles unassisted. Maximum rider weight is 300 lbs (136 kg), single riders only.
Aquatica – Tassie’s Twisters and Whanau Way:
Guests must be able to maintain proper riding position holding on to both handles unassisted. Guests under 48″ are required to wear life vest. Maximum rider weight is 400 lbs (181 kg).
Aquatica – Walhalla Wave & HooRoo Run:
Guests must be 42″ to ride, must be able to maintain proper riding position holding on to both handles unassisted. Guests under 48″ are required to wear a life vest. Maximum rider weight is 600 lbs (272 kg).
Aquatica – Dolphin Plunge:
Guests must be at least 48″ tall, life vests, shirts or cotton shorts may not be worn on this attraction. Guests must be able to maintain proper riding position. Maximum rider weight is 300 lbs (136 kg), single riders only.
Aquatica – Roa’s Rapids:
Guests under 51″ are required to wear a life vest.
Aquatica – Loggerhead Lane:
Guests under 48″ are required to wear a life vest. All guests must be in a single or double tube.
Aquatica – Kata’s Kookaburra Cove
Slides in this area require guests to be no taller than 48″ or accompanied by a child under 48. Tube slide (Zippity Zappity) maximum rider weight is 400 lbs (181 kg)
Aquatica – Walk About Waters
Guests must be between 36 and 42 inches for slides into the main pool and over 42 inches for the larger slides that are dispatched by a lifeguard. Guests under 48″ are required to wear a life vest on the larger slides.
